With this year coming to a close, I wanted to start something new. I’d like to try and post at least once a week about anything I’m working on - updates on my life, etc.
For this first post, I’m going to add a few moments from 2018 that truly made it a brilliant year.
Here are the boys - Adrian is apart of this band, ManDancing. I love them to pieces; as a friend and music lover. They recently had a show in this year’s Champagne Jam in Asbury Park, New Jersey - as seen above. It was incredible.
This month, I decided to take the green thumb plunge and see how well I’d do being a plant mom. So far, it’s been one week since re potting and I haven’t killed any of em! The feeling of digging my hands through the soil and just being in the moment was so peaceful. I was reminded that sometimes you have to slow down and really soak it all in - especially the little things.
I’d like to thank The Sill for helping me gain more knowledge about loving and nurturing plants - so wonderful and their site is so informative/pretty!
Okay, so…this is a big one. I actually haven’t painted or drawn in a really, REALLY long time (it’s been almost a year since I sat down and painted like this). I decided a few months ago that when my schedule allowed for it, I’d take the time to draw and paint. I’m so incredibly happy that it did.
In this slideshow, you’ll see my work in progress. Down below, I’ll list the materials I used to make this illustration. See more of my process here.
Stillman & Birn Beta Series Softcover Sketchbook
Staedtler Mars Lumograph H Pencil
Winsor & Newton Finest Sable No. 2 Brush Series 7 and Princeton Art & Brush Co. Wash Brush 3/4”
PRO Tapes & Specialties Artist Tape
Winsor & Newton Designers Gouache - if you need color specifics, just ask!
This entire grid is composed of some of my most favorite moments from our Europe trip in October. This trip consisted of meeting some of Adrian’s family, eating loads of delicious food, experiencing historical treasures, and celebrating life. I will cherish this trip with every ounce of me <3.
